A furnace that starts, warms briefly, shuts down and repeats should not be ignored. The furnace may be protecting itself from overheating, or the thermostat may be calling in short bursts because it is mounted in a bad spot.
First decide what is cycling
If the burner shuts off but the blower keeps running, suspect overheating or flame-sense/combustion trouble. If the whole furnace stops because the thermostat is satisfied, look for thermostat placement, poor air circulation or a heat vent blowing directly at the thermostat.
Airflow restrictions are the common cause
Open intended heat registers, remove rugs or storage from return-air paths and inspect accessible flex ducts. Crushed, disconnected or blocked ducts reduce airflow through the heat exchanger and can trip the high-limit switch.
Low voltage can mimic an airflow problem
The blower may sound normal but still be slow under load. Measure voltage while the blower is running. Battery voltage that collapses under load can create limit trips, sail-switch dropouts and repeated restarts.
When propane or flame sense is involved
If the flame lights and disappears quickly, read RV furnace runs then shuts off. Gas pressure, electrode position and burner condition require qualified service.

Is short cycling dangerous?
It can be. Repeated high-limit trips point to overheating, and combustion problems can create carbon-monoxide risk.
Can I close vents to force more heat to the bedroom?
Do not close multiple furnace registers unless the RV manufacturer allows it. Reducing airflow can overheat the furnace.
Why does it cycle only at night?
Lower battery voltage, colder ducts, closed doors and blocked bedding near returns can all show up at night.
